Chelsea: The taxi's here!
[Barbie opens the front door. Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea go outside.]
Barbie: Oh, our stockings! [Collects stockings and then leaves.]
Scene 2 (On the plane)[]
[The opening credits play. On the plane, Stacie and Chelsea sit together, and Barbie and Skipper sit behind them. Skipper is using her laptop to work on a song while Barbie reads.]
Barbie: Oh, Skipper! Uh, Skipper? [Removes Skipper's headphones] Skipper!
Skipper: What?
Barbie: Super brainstorm: When you finish your song, I know tons of bands we can get it to! Cool, right?
Skipper: Yeah, it's cool, but I can do this on my own. I don't need any help, okay?
Barbie: Sure.
[Stacie puts on headphones and sighs. Chelsea copies her. Stacie turns off an overhead light. Chelsea copies her. Stacie stretches and groans. Chelsea copies her.]
Stacie: Aha! You're copying me!
Chelsea: Am not.
Stacie: You are! Stop it! No more copying!
[Stacie folds her arms. Chelsea copies her. Stacie groans and puts a pillow over her own face. Chelsea puts a pillow over her own face.]
Captain: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain. We have a severe weather system in our flight path that will force us to make an unscheduled landing in Rochester, Minnesota.
Chelsea: Is that near New York City?
[Stacie shrugs.]
Captain: Since we'll be delayed overnight, it will be our pleasure to house everyone in local hotels. Please fasten your seatbelts as we prepare for landing, and have a really super day.
Stacie: Hotels? [Stacie and Chelsea turn to Barbie and Skipper] Does that mean we won't get to New York today?
Skipper: If the storm's really bad, we won't get to New York at all.
Chelsea: At all? But we need to be there. What about Aunt Millie? What about the sea lions?
Stacie: What about Christmas?!
Barbie: We'll get to New York for Christmas. I promise. Even if I have drive us all the way there myself.
Scene 3 (Arriving at the Tannenbaum Inn)[]
[Barbie is driving a car with Skipper in the passenger seat, and Stacie and Chelsea are sitting in the back.]
Chelsea: Are we close to New York?
Barbie: We're not trying to get to New York. We just wanna make it to Minneapolis. It has a bigger airport, so flights will go out sooner.
Stacie: But we've been in the car for hours.
[Stacie folds her arms and Chelsea copies her. Stacie groans.]
Barbie: That's because some roads are closed and I had to go a different way.
Chelsea: You mean we're lost?
Barbie: No, not at all! We can't be lost! Skipper has the GPS so she knows exactly where we are. Right, Skipper?
Skipper: Yep.
Barbie: See?
Skipper: We're smack in the middle of nowhere.
Stacie: So, we are lost.
Chelsea: We'll never get to New York for Christmas.
Barbie: Yes, we will. We'll get there. You'll see. We just have to keep going, no matter what.
Chelsea: I have to go to the bathroom.
Stacie: Ugh, Chelsea!
Chelsea: What? I do!
Stacie: Can't you hold it in?
Chelsea: Forever?
Barbie: You guys, it's fine. We'll stop.
Skipper: Probably smart. With snow like this, there's no way planes'll go out tonight. They might not for days.
Stacie: Days?!
Barbie: Skipper...
Skipper: What? I'm just saying.
Stacie: [To Chelsea] Whatever you do, don't think about waterfalls.
Chelsea: Stacie!
Stacie: Or running rivers. Tons and tons of water, bubbling and flowing and rushing...
Chelsea: Stacie!
Skipper: Hey, check that out. The Tannenbaum Inn. Vacancy!
Barbie: Phew, perfect.
[Barbie parks outside the inn. Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea go to the inn's front door. Barbie jostles the door handle.]
Barbie: Locked.
Skipper: It's pretty late. Maybe no one's awake.
Barbie: Someone must be. All the lights are on. I'll try the bell.
Chelsea: Ooh, let me!
[Chelsea rings the bell and sleigh bells play. Chelsea laughs. Christie Clauson opens a peephole in the door.]
Christie: Ho, ho, ho! Hello! Oh, welcome to the Tannenbaum Inn! My name's Christie, and I am at your service!
Barbie: Hi! We saw the vacancy sign. I hope it's not too late.
Christie: Too late? But you're right on time.
Skipper: Right on time for what?
Christie: For the greatest day of the whole year! Come in.
[Christie opens the door. Inside, staff members are carrying Christmas presents and the inn is covered in Christmas decorations. Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea react in awe.]
Cole Elif: Coming through!
Holly Elif: 'Scuse me!
Ivy Elif: Pardon me!
["Wrap It Up, Stack It Up" begins.]
Barbie: You really get into Christmas here!
Christie: Oh, you don't know the half of it. We do Christmas like no one else, or my name isn't Christie Clauson.
Chelsea: Is your name Christie Clauson?
Christie: [Laughs] Yes.
[Singing] Come with me
We've been decorating the tree
This is what the season can be
Our favorite time of year
Look around
Cookies coming in by the pound
Hot cocoa to wash it all down
And all our friends are here
Wrap it up, stack it up
Pack it up and go
Hey, hey, whatcha say
Step into the flow
Love is what we got
Smile on every face
And presents all over the place
We get to give 'em away
We get to give 'em away-yay-yay-yeah
Hеy, hey, everyday
Wе just wanna give 'em away
Give 'em away
Everyone
Together we can get it all done
We'll be having all kinds of fun
And helping people too
Everywhere (Everywhere)
You can feel the joy in the air (the joy in the air)
Together we got so much to share
With love from me to you
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
Wrap it up, stack it up
Pack it up and go (pack it up and go)
Hey, hey, whatcha say
Step into the flow (step into the flow)
Love is what we got
Smile on every face
And presents all over the place
We get to give 'em away
We get to give 'em away-yay-yay-yeah (give 'em away)
Hey, hey, everyday
We just wanna give 'em away
We just wanna give 'em away
Woah, woah
Doesn't matter what you bring
Woah, woah
Could be just a little thing
Woah, woah
If you want the real thing
This is what we say (come on, tell me whatcha say)
Give 'em away
We get to give 'em away-yay-yay-yeah
Hey, hey, everyday
We just wanna give 'em away (wrap it up, stack it up)
We get to give 'em away
(Wrap it up, stack it up) Give 'em away
(Pack it up and go) Give 'em away
(Hey, hey, whatcha say) Give 'em away
(Step into the flow)
Hey, hey, everyday
We just wanna give 'em away
(Wrap it up, stack it up)
We just wanna give 'em away
(Wrap it up, stack it up)
We just wanna give 'em away
["Wrap It Up, Stack It Up" ends. During the song, Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea helped the Tannenbaum Inn staff to wrap presents. Everyone cheers and applauds when it is fully decorated at the end of the song.]
Holly: Awesome!
Cole: Beautiful!
Barbie: Incredible.
Skipper: Christie, what is this place?
Christie: The Tannenbaum Inn! But, it is something special around Christmas time. The Elifs and I can't help it. We do it up every year.
Chelsea: Elves? Elves! I knew it! You said your name is Christie Clauson, right? And it's a Tannenbaum Inn, like the Christmas carol. And you have elves making Christmas presents. This is Santa's workshop!
Stacie: Chelsea, we're in Minnesota. Santa's workshop is at the North Pole. Everyone knows that.
Chelsea: But the elves...
Christie: Elifs! [Laughs] The Elif family! That's their last name. We do a big toy drive every Christmas, and they always help me out. We put everything together and wrap up the gifts, then my uncle swings by on Christmas Eve to handle distribution!
Chelsea: But the Elifs all have pointy ears!
Stacie: Hello? Rude!
Ivy: It's okay, she's right.
[Ivy takes off one of her fake pointy ears. Chelsea gasps. Ivy speaks to someone using the fake ear.]
Ivy: I need a roll of sparkly ribbon at table 1, stat!
Chelsea: [Laughs] It's a walkie-talkie. So, this isn't Santa's workshop.
Christie: Oh, sure it is! Any place where people come together to bring Christmas to others is one of Santa's workshops. Don't you think? [Stacie and Chelsea smile.] So, how long will you be staying with us?
Barbie: We just need one night.
Skipper: We're leaving first thing in the morning to fly to New York City.
Christie: How exciting. Cole, Ivy! The best room in the house.
Barbie: [Takes key from Christie] Thanks.
Scene 4 (Bed time)[]
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea have changed into their pajamas. Barbie is on the phone with Millicent.]
Barbie: We miss you, too... Yep, Skipper booked us on a morning flight. We'll call you from the gate. We'll see you soon. Bye. [Ends call.] Aunt Millie sends her love.
Chelsea: Did she say she was excited for the sea lion show?
Stacie: Did she say how much snow there is in Central Park?
Skipper: Did she say she's really sorry she won't see us this trip?
Stacie: What? What do you mean?
Skipper: I mean, there's another storm coming tonight. "Major flight cancellations expected throughout the midwest." There's no way our plane's taking off tomorrow.
Stacie: But it has to. We have to get to New York for the perfect Christmas.
Skipper: I think we have to kiss the perfect Christmas goodbye.
Chelsea: But Barbie promised. She said we'd get to New York for Christmas, right Barbie?
Barbie: You know what? Weather reports are wrong all the time. Our flight is first thing in the morning. I bet we can get out and be in New York before the storm even starts.
Chelsea: Promise?
Barbie: I promise we'll have the perfect Christmas! [Hugs Chelsea] We should get to bed. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow.
Chelsea: Goodnight.
Skipper: Goodnight.
Stacie: Goodnight, Barbie.
Barbie: Goodnight.
[Later, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea are sleeping. Barbie can't sleep so she goes to another room in the inn. She looks out a window and sees snow everywhere.]
Barbie: [Sighs] All this snow... there's no way we'll get to New York tomorrow. It'll mess up everything. [Looks at star in the sky] Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight.]
["The Wish I Wish Tonight" begins.]
Barbie: [Singing] When I wish on a star
Gaze upon it from afar
I believe what's troubling me
Can melt away like snow
This isn't where we want to be
There is so much more we want to see
Sparkling lights, city sights
Busy streets below
I will keep doing all I can do
I will keep wishing
'Cause wishes come true
I'm dreaming our Christmas will turn out right
That's the wish I wish tonight, ooh
When I wish my heart is full
Everything is possible
I can see beyond the clouds
Feel the stars as they all glow
I will keep doing all I can do
I will keep wishing
'Cause wishes come true
I'm dreaming our Christmas will turn out right
That's the wish I wish tonight, mm, ooh
I will keep doing all I can do
I will keep wishing [Christie watches Barbie sing]
'Cause wishes come true
I'm dreaming our Christmas will turn out right
That's the wish I wish
That's the wish I wish
That's the wish I wish tonight
["The Wish I Wish Tonight" ends.]
Barbie: [Sighs] I wish it were that easy.
Christie: Maybe it is.
Barbie: Oh, Christie! I didn't see you. I'm so sorry, did I wake you up?
Christie: No, I was awake. Is everything okay? You sound like you're sad about something.
Barbie: Christmas.
Christie: [Laughs] You're sad about Christmas?
Barbie: No, I love Christmas, but this year, my sisters are counting on me to get them to New York and I don't think I can. They're going to be so disappointed when they wake up, and it's all my fault.
Christie: it's your fault the planes can't fly?
Barbie: Well, no.
Christie: It's your fault there's a snow storm?
Barbie: [Laughs] Of course not.
Christie: Then I'm confused. What exactly is your fault?
Barbie: It's my fault because I told my sisters we'd have the perfect Christmas. I promised them. Now, in the morning I'm going to have to take it away.
Christie: Hm, I don't think you can take away the perfect Christmas.
Barbie: What do you mean?
Christie: Well, the perfect Christmas isn't an object like a dress or an ornament. It's a feeling, one you get by finding joy in the people and things all around you. You can't take that away from anyone. Once they find it, it's theirs. I can think of something that might bring you a little joy.
Barbie: What?
Christie: You were going to make a wish, right?
Barbie: Oh, that was just a song.
Christie: Go for it!
Barbie: [Looks at stars] I wish that my sisters and I will have the perfect Christmas. [Hears sleigh bells and gasps] Christie, did you hear that? Christie?
[Christie has disappeared.]
Barbie: Hm. [Goes to bed.]
Scene 5 (Reindogs)[]
[The next days, it is Christmas Eve. In the morning, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea are awake before Barbie. Chelsea wakes up Barbie.]
Chelsea: Barbie. Barbie!
[Barbie wakes up and yelps.]
Chelsea: Look, the sun's up!
Stacie: It's not snowing anymore.
Chelsea: So our plane will take off and we can go to New York!
Stacie and Chelsea: [Singing while jumping on Barbie's bed] We're going to New York, we're going to New York!
Skipper: Our flight was cancelled.
Chelsea: Cancelled?!
Skipper: It snowed most of the night. The runways aren't clear. They'll get us on another flight, but they can't tell us when.
Stacie: But it could be soon, right? Like in a couple hours?
Skipper: With so many flights cancelled, it's probably more like a couple days.
Chelsea: But Christmas is tomorrow! I'll miss the special sea lion feeding!
Skipper: We'll miss everything. All of us will.
Barbie: We can always go to Manhattan next Christmas. The sea lions will still be there. So will all the ice skating, and snow shoeing, and sledding...
Skipper: Yeah, but some things won't be. A Mid-Sparkle Night's Dream won't be playing on Broadway next year. Zoe's band could even break up by then.
Stacie: And Aunt Millie doesn't come in from Paris every year.
Chelsea: It's not fair! They can't take the perfect Christmas away from us! They can't!
Barbie: Someone told me it's impossible to take away the perfect Christmas. It sounded good when she said it, but now...
Skipper: I'm texting Zoe to let her know I won't make it. Should I text Aunt Millie, too?
Barbie: Yeah. Tell her we'll call her later... and tell her, "Merry Christmas."
Chelsea: [Gasps] Barbie, what about Santa?!
Barbie: What about Santa?
Chelsea: We're not where we're supposed to be! How will Santa know how to find us? How will he get us our presents?
Stacie: Come on, Chelsea. Santa always knows where people are, no matter where it is. Right?
Barbie: Right... and we can help him find us with our stockings. We'll hang them up right here in the room.
Chelsea: Where? There's no fireplace.
Barbie: Uh, so we improvize. The window sill. [Hangs up stockings] There. Now Santa will know exactly where to find us, right near... [Looks out window] the reindeer?
Chelsea: Reindeer? I wanna see!
[Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea go to the window.]
Chelsea: They are reindeer! Like Santa's reindeer! [Sees "reindeer" leap] Did you see that?! The reindeer flew! They are Santa's reindeer! Come on, we have to go see!
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea get dressed and go to find the "reindeer." Chelsea runs over to Christie.]
Chelsea: Christie! Christie!
Christie: Hey, Chelsea, what's up?
Chelsea: A reindeer! We saw it flying! They were here! Santa's reindeer are here!
Christie: You saw Santa's reindeer?
Barbie: I don't know about that, but we did see something out the window.
Chelsea: It was Santa's reindeer, I know it! There were 8 of them and one of them flew!
Skipper: Or jumped.
[Stacie laughs.]
Chelsea: It flew, I saw it!
Christie: I believe you. You know why? Because I saw Santa's reindeer, too.
Chelsea: You did?
Christie: Mhm, right here.
[Christie gestures for everyone to follow her. She leads Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea, guided by "reindeer" tracks.]
Christie: Santa's reindeer, at your service.
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea are in awe when they see dogs dressed as reindeer. Staff members tell the dogs to do tricks on an obstacle course while people watch.]
Cole: [To dog] Down...
Ivy: [To dog] Alley-oop!
Stacie: [Looking at dogs] Aw, they're so cute!
Skipper: [After a dog leaps] And look, that one [does finger quotes] "flew."
Chelsea: But... from the window... they looked like real reindeer... and I thought I saw them further out that way...
Christie: Wanna meet them?
Chelsea: [Gasps] Can we?
Christie: Sure. Hey, Cole!
Cole: [Whistles] Reindogs, ho!
[The dogs run away from Ivy and Holly to Christie, Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea. The girls laugh as they pet the dogs.]
Chelsea: [Gets knocked over by big dog] Oof! [Laughs]
Barbie: They're so cute! Are they all your dogs?
Cole: No, they're shelter dogs.
Christie: Every year, we pick several dogs to play Santa's reindeer and be part of our canine Christmas, and so far, every year, all the reindogs have gotten adopted. That's how my parents got their dog; he played Blitzen two years ago.
Skipper: That's a really cool idea.
Stacie: Can I take the dogs through the obstacle course?
Cole: Sure!
Chelsea: Ooh, me too!
Stacie: [Sighs] Do you have to?
Cole: It's no problem. We've got lots of dogs. [Whistles] You take Comet, and you take Dancer. The dogs know the commands, so they'll be fine.
[Stacie takes one of the dogs through the obstacle course. Chelsea copies her.]
Stacie: This way, boy. Jump.
Chelsea: This way, boy. Jump.
Stacie: Ugh. Over here. That's it.
Chelsea: Over here. [Stacie grunts] That's it.
Stacie: [Grunts] Good boy.
Chelsea: Good boy.
Stacie: Chelsea, can't you stop copying me?!
Chelsea: What? I wanna play with the dogs, too.
Stacie: You only thought of it because I said it first. You're a copycat.
Chelsea: I am not.
Stacie: You are! It's like I can't do anything without you tagging along. Can't you ever leave me alone? [Walks away.]
Chelsea: Fine. Be alone. See what I care. I'm not a copycat. I don't wanna do what Stacie does, anyway. She's mean. Who wants to be around someone mean?
[Chelsea sees a dog named Rudy attached to a sled. A man and little boy are looking at Rudy.]
Man: [Laughs] That's great.
Boy: Bye, boy.
[The man laughs as he and the boy walk away. Chelsea goes up to Rudy and he licks her hand. She laughs.]
Chelsea: Rudy. [Rudy barks] You're by yourself, too, huh? Did the other dogs send you away for being a copycat? [Rudy whines and Chelsea laughs] I mean, copydog. [Rudy barks] Hey, can I get in your sled? [Rudy barks] Thanks! [Chelsea gets in] This is cool!
[Rudy sees a squirrel and chases it.]
Chelsea: Whoa! Whoa!
Barbie and Skipper: Chelsea?
Chelsea: Hey, Barbie!
Barbie and Skipper: Chelsea?! Chelsea! [They run after Chelsea.]
Stacie: [Gasps] Wait for me! [Runs after Chelsea.]
Chelsea: Whoa!
Barbie, Skipper and Stacie: Chelsea!
Chelsea: Whee!
[The squirrel leads Rudy onto some ice.]
Chelsea: Woohoo!
[Barbie and Skipper slip on the ice. Stacie skates on the ice.]
Stacie: I got this. Woo!
Barbie: Chelsea, are you okay?!
Chelsea: That was fun!
Skipper: Oh, I'm glad that's over. [Tries to stand and falls.]
Stacie: Look at me, I'm skating, I'm skating! Woohoo!
[Rudy chases the squirrel again.]
Barbie, Skipper and Stacie: Chelsea!
[Skipper and Stacie hold hands as Barbie, Skipper and Stacie run after Chelsea.]
Skipper: Man, not again...
[Barbie, Skipper and Stacie reach a steep hill. Stacie almost falls down.]
Stacie: Whoa!
Chelsea: Whoa! [Laughs] Whoa!
Skipper: It's so steep.
Stacie: [Sees an abandoned sled] Hm...
[Barbie, Skipper and Stacie yell as their sled follows Chelsea's. Their sled catches up to Chelsea's.]
Barbie: Chelsea!
Chelsea: Hi, guys! [Her sled speeds up] Whoa!
[The two sleds go over a bump. The sleds fly through the air and then land. Chelsea laughs and then her sled crashes. Barbie, Skipper and Stacie's sled crashes too.]
Chelsea: [Laughs] That was fun! Let's do it again!
Skipper: Are you crazy!
[Rudy emerges from the snow and shakes snow off his fur. The girls yelp and shield themselves.]
Barbie: Chelsea, you can't just take off like that.
Chelsea: I didn't take off. Rudy did.
Skipper: But you were supposed to be in the dog course with Stacie.
Chelsea: I was, until Stacie kicked me out. She made me go away.
Stacie: I did not.
Chelsea: Did too.
Barbie: Shh. Look.
[Barbie points ahead at a herd of eight reindeer.]
Chelsea: [Gasps] Reindeer. I knew we saw real reindeer this morning.
[A reindeer approaches Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea. Stacie and Chelsea pet the reindeer.]
Barbie: Oh, he's beautiful!
Stacie: And so soft!
Skipper: But they couldn't really be...
Chelsea: Why not? Maybe they could.
[The reindeer walks back to his herd.]
Skipper: It's like... he wants us to follow him.
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea follow the reindeer to a pink barn.]
Barbie: Huh, I guess this is where they live.
Skipper: But there are no houses. Who takes care of them?
[Chelsea goes over to the barn and looks inside.]
Chelsea: You guys, you have to see this!
Skipper: Chelsea, you shouldn't be in there!
Chelsea: Okay, but just come see!
[Chelsea goes in the barn. Barbie sighs. Barbie, Skipper and Stacie go into the barn. They react with aw when they see it is filled with hundreds of Christmas presents.]
Chelsea: Can you believe it?! Do you know what this is?!
Barbie: It's a barn, and it's not ours.
Chelsea: It's not ours, it's Santa's!
Stacie: You really think it's Santa's?
Chelsea: Yeah! Don't you? Eight reindeer, all these presents... it has to be Santa's!
Skipper: Or Christie's. She said that she and the Elifs—
Chelsea: You mean "elves"?
Skipper: Elifs. They do that big toy drive every year, remember? Maybe this is where they keep them.
Chelsea: But could they really make this many toys?
Barbie: Maybe if they worked hard all year.
Skipper: Let's ask Christie. See what she says. Plus, I wanna get back someplace warm. I'm freezing.
[Barbie, Skipper and Stacie leave the barn. Chelsea stays by the door.]
Chelsea: I don't wanna go. I wanna stay at Santa's place.
Stacie: Christie has hot chocolate at the inn!
Chelsea: Hot chocolate?! Let's go!
[Chelsea runs ahead of everyone.]
Scene 6 (Going back to the inn)[]
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea travel back to the inn. Barbie is pulling Chelsea in a sled.]
Chelsea: Are we close? We've been walking forever.
Barbie: Just a little further.
Chelsea: I want hot chocolate!
Stacie: [Sighs] You can't complain. This is all your fault.
Chelsea: Your fault! You wouldn't let me play with you!
Stacie: You wouldn't stop copying me!
Skipper: Come on, cut it out. We all wanna get back to the inn.
[Stacie blows a raspberry at Chelsea and Chelsea gasps. Chelsea laughs as she makes a snowball, then throws it at Stacie.]
Stacie: Hey!
[Everyone turns to Chelsea. Chelsea whispers and plays innocent. Rudy wags his tail and looks at everyone happily.]
Stacie: That's it!
[Barbie runs away as Stacie throws a snowball at Chelsea]
Chelsea: Whoa! Ugh!
[Stacie laughs. Stacie and Chelsea start having a snowball fight.]
Skipper: You guys, come on. I'm still cold, I wanna get back to the inn.
[Stacie and Chelsea laugh and Rudy barks at them.]
Skipper: Guys? Hello? Okay, back me up Barbie. Shouldn't we go? Barbie?
[Barbie throws a snowball at Skipper. Skipper turns to Barbie.]
Skipper: Hey!
[Barbie laughs and waves at Skipper.]
Skipper: [Laughs] You're going down!
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea have a snowball fight. Rudy barks at everyone and catches snowballs in his mouth. After, the sisters makes snowgirls of themselves and a snowdog of Rudy. Everyone laughs at Rudy as he destroys the snowdog. Rudy looks happy. The girls then laugh as they make snow angels. Rudy barks happily as he attempts to make one. When they are done, the girls laugh as they continue travelling back to the inn.]
Barbie: [Laughs] That was fun.
Stacie: I totally got you!
Chelsea: You so didn't! I am the snowball master!
[Faint music is heard in the background.]
Skipper: [Stops walking] Hey, do you guys hear something?
[Skipper runs over to a building and her sisters and Rudy follow. Skipper looks through a window and sees a band playing live music in a garage. One of the band members is Brian.]
Skipper: Sweet! They're awesome!
[Skipper knocks on the window. Brian notices her.]
Brian: Hmm?
[The band stops playing. Skipper waves through the window. Brian opens the garage door and greets the girls.]
Brian: Hey, guys.
[Rudy barks.]
Skipper: Hey! Killer sound.
[Brian shyly puts his hand behind his head.]
Brian: Heh, thanks... dude, I know you! You have a vlog, right? I watch it all the time! You call yourself PJ Sherwood.
Skipper: Wow! Yeah, that's so cool that you watch!
Brian: Are you kidding? Your site is, like, required viewing. [Points at himself] Brian.
Skipper: I'm Skipper. Are you online? Who does your vocals?
Brian: No one. That's kind of our big problem. We play pretty great, but we don't have a website or MP3s or anything, 'cause we don't have a singer.
Chelsea: Ooh, I'll sing for you! [Clears throat and sings]
Christmas is coming
And the geese are getting fat
Please put a bunny
In the old man's hat!
[Stacie rolls her eyes and sighs.]
Brian: That's cool. We'll keep you in mind, okay?
Chelsea: Sweet!
[Stacie sighs.]
Brian: Really cool meeting you, Skipper. You have no idea how bad I wish we could be on your podcast, but... you know...
Skipper: Yeah... good luck with stuff, though. You guys are great.
Brian: Thanks.
[The sisters say goodbye to Brian and the rest of the band. The band members wave at the girls. Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea continue heading to the inn. Skipper walks next to Barbie.]
Barbie: You okay?
Skipper: Yeah... those guys just reminded me of Zoe's band. I still can't deal with losing the chance for them to do my song live, you know?
Barbie: Yeah... Oh! What if...
Skipper: What?
Barbie: Podcast Brian's band tonight, the same way you were going to do Zoe's! They can even play your song, and you can sing it!
Skipper: Zoe was doing an actual show, with a live crowd. Me and four guys rocking out in a tricked out garage is totally different.
[Stacie and Chelsea look at each other sadly.]
Barbie: So put together a show, tonight! A Christmas Eve concert at the hotel. I bet Christie would love it. She can help us spread the word to everyone in town. We'll make a stage right outside, we can serve Christie's amazing hot coco as people come in--
Skipper: Hold up! If I'm going to do this, I want to do it. I don't want it to be a Barbie thing.
Barbie: If that's what you want, I'll totally keep out of it.
Skipper: You really think I could pull it off?
Barbie: I know you can.
Skipper: Wait up. I'm going to see how the band feels about a Christmas Eve debut, with a new song and singer!
[Skipper happily runs back to Brian's band. Barbie smiles.]
Scene 7 (Planning the show begins)[]
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea and Rudy are outside the inn with Christie.]
Christie: A Christmas Eve concert is a great idea! I love it!
Skipper: The band and I will need a place to rehearse. Maybe in the inn?
Christie: Yes! You can rehearse in the basement! And you can set up a stage out here for the show. We can put out risers with blankets and refreshment tables... whatever you need. Just ask the Elifs and me, and we'll help.
Skipper: Thanks.
Stacie: I wanna help, too!
Chelsea: Me, too! What can we do?
[Skipper looks serious and turns to Christie. Barbie puts her hands on Chelsea's shoulders.]
Barbie: Um, maybe just stay out of Skipper's way. [Rudy whines.] This is really her thing.
Stacie: Aww, come on. We wanna do something.
Chelsea: Yeah!
Christie: I have an idea. Maybe you could help with the opening act?
Skipper: What opening act?
Christie: An animal show with the shelter dogs! A couple of them still need to be adopted, and with the turnout I know you'll have, it'd be a great way to showcase them. It's also a nice big job for Stacie and Chelsea.
Skipper: Yes, that's an excellent idea! Animal act? Go for it?
[Stacie and Chelsea get excited.]
Stacie: Just me, right?
Skipper: No, both of you together. Think you can handle that?
[Stacie looks disappointed.]
Chelsea: Yeah!
Stacie: Yeah... I guess.
Skipper: Cool.
Chelsea: What are you doing for the show, Barbie?
[Rudy whines.]
Barbie: I...
Skipper: You will make the popcorn and cranberry strings!
Barbie: I'll... what?
Skipper: Yeah, decorations totally set the scene. Think you can do it? Please?
Barbie: If that's where you need me, I'm all over it.
Skipper: Thanks, Barbie.
[Barbie smiles.]
Skipper: Okay, so I need to pick out the direction of the stage, and decorations - big candy canes, some poinsettias...
Scene 8 (Show preparations go wrong)[]
[Barbie has changed clothes. By sunset, Barbie has made several long popcorn and cranberry garlands. She tries to phone Millicent.]
Millicent: Bonjour, this is Millicent! I'm travelling, please leave a message at the beep. Merci!
Barbie: Hey, Aunt Millie. Storms have flights backed up for two more days, can you believe it? [Sighs] Wish like crazy I was going to the play with you, but at least I still get to see Skipper sing with a band! You'll have to check it out later on her site. Love you.
[Barbie finishes the voice message and continues making a garland. She eats some popcorn and hears Rudy barking outside.]
Barbie: Hm, I wonder how Skipper's doing?
[Barbie stands up to look outside, but she loses her balance due to the garlands being in hr way.]
Barbie: Oh! Oh, whoa, whoa...!
[Barbie falls and whines on the floor. She changes her clothes off screen and then goes outside. Barbie finds that the show has been set up, but Christie is sitting alone and not doing anything.]
Barbie: What's going on? Isn't the show in just 2 hours?
Christie: Yes, but Skipper keeps going downstairs to rehearse, so she can't tell us what to do. She hasn't decided where she wants the stage, or the right color curtains, or how many risers, or...
Barbie: But you don't need her for all that, right? You know this spot, just do what you think is best.
Christie: I would, but Skipper won't let us. She gave us orders not to make a single decision without her.
Barbie: Really?
Christie: Not one.
[Stacie and Chelsea are on stage. The reindogs are on the floor facing them.]
Chelsea: Cut it out, Stacie! I'm telling! Barbie, Stacie's being super mean!
Stacie: I'm not! I just think it's better if we each do our own animal acts for the dogs. I wanna be the Stupendous Stacie, then you can do your show. You can be Chillin' It Chelsea.
Chelsea: That's a dumb name.
Stacie: What about Check It Out Chelsea?
Chelsea: I wanna do the show together, at the same time.
Stacie and Chelsea: Barbie!
Barbie: Um, I guess it's really up to Skipper.
[Skipper is walking with Holly and Ivy.]
Skipper: [Frustrated] Oh!
Ivy: Did you want red candy canes with white stripes, or white candy canes with red stripes?
Skipper: I don't know.
Holly: Do you want the green bow or the red bow?
Skipper: [Holding the bows] Uh, red. No, green... It's too much to think about. I still have to rehearse, and set up the podcast, and decide on outfits...
Christie: It's okay. We can decide this stuff for you. Let us figure it out.
Skipper: No. I need to do it myself! Like Barbie. She's always...
[Christie steps to the side and Skipper sees that Barbie was behind Christie.]
Skipper: Oh. [Looks embarrassed] Hi, Barbie. [Goes on stage.]
Chelsea: Skipper! What do you like better - two way too long boring animal acts, or one fantastic animal act with the Stupendous Stacie and Charming Chelsea?
Skipper: What?
Chelsea: I think one act is better but Stacie won't let me do it and I need to tell her how important it is because I--
Skipper: Not now, Chelsea.
Chelsea: But you need to tell her or it'll get too late and I won't be able to plan!
Skipper: Not now! Seriously, just stop!
[Skipper throws down the bows and walks away.]
Stacie: [To Chelsea] See? Now Skipper's mad at you, too. You're in everyone's way.
[Chelsea looks sad and walks away.]
Stacie: You don't have to be a baby about it.
Barbie: Skipper, do you have a minute?
Skipper: [Sighs] Sure. This must look like kind of a mess to you. I mean, you do stuff like this all the time by yourself, and it's always great. I'll get it right, though. I will.
Barbie: Skipper, I never do anything like this by myself.
Skipper: Oh, you do. I've seen you. You've put on plays and starred in movies and done block parties... and what about that fashion show you did in Paris for Aunt Millie?
Barbie: I didn't do any of those things by myself. Tons of people helped me.
Skipper: Really?
Barbie: I couldn't have done it without them.
Skipper: I never knew that. From the outside, it looks like you can do anything. It's kind of hard to measure up to sometimes.
Barbie: "Measure up to"? Skipper, I think you're amazing. Look at what happened with Brian - he was in awe of you and your website, and that's something you put together all on your own.
Skipper: [Smiling] I guess.
Barbie: It's true. You don't have to compare yourself to me or anyone else at all. You're incredible, just the way you are.
Skipper: [Sarcastically] Great, now you're showing me up again, busting out the perfect big sister thing to say.
[Barbie and Skipper hug.]
Barbie: You're welcome.
[A squirrel runs onto the stage while Stacie trains a reindog for her performance.]
Stacie: Stand up. That's a good boy! Here you go! Sit... That's it.
[Stacie throws a treat to a dog, which gets the squirrel's attention.]
Stacie: Roll over...
[The squirrel jumps on a stool next to Stacie and looks at the bag of treats attached to her.]
Stacie: Good boy! Now, stay. Good dog!
[The squirrel steals a treat. The dogs get angry and growl at the squirrel. The squirrel runs away with the treat so the dogs chase it.]
Stacie: No, wait! Stay more! Stay a little bit! Ugh!
[The dogs knock over the seating. The squirrel runs up a ladder that a man is using to put up a mistletoe and a banner. The squirrel makes the man lose his balance. The man grabs the banner and swings down to safety. Barbie and Skipper turn and see him. The banner coming down causes a chain reaction of all the other banners falling down. The mistletoe slides to the ground with the squirrel on it. The mistletoe rolls away with the squirrel atop it. The Elifs chase it.]
Cole: Hey, stop! Oh, no!
Ivy: Barbie, Skipper, quick!
Holly: Slow down!
Skipper: Ugh!
Barbie: No, stop!
[Barbie, Skipper, Holly, Ivy, Cole and the reindogs chase the mistletoe. The squirrel jumps off and jumps on a curtain on stage. Two reindogs pull at the curtain. The squirrel jumps on a Christmas tree that is on stage and the curtain getting tugged makes the curtains fall down.]
Skipper: Oh, no!
[Everyone makes noise as they chase the mistletoe. Two reindogs make the Christmas tree fall down and then chase the squirrel. Cole whistles and makes the reindogs stop. The squirrel gets away.]
Cole: Reindogs, ho!
[The squirrel hugs the treat and leaves. The Christmas show set up is destroyed and the sky is getting dark.]
Skipper: No way. It-it's all ruined. It's almost time for the show, and everything's ruined. [To Stacie] I thought you and Chelsea were watching the dogs!
Stacie: We were! Then Chelsea pouted off the way she does, and...
Barbie: Wait! "Pouted off?" "Pouted off" where?
[Stacie shrugs.]
Christie: We can fan out from the inn. She couldn't have gone far.
Cole: Wait, maybe she could have. Look. Sleigh tracks. Has anyone seen Rudy?
Barbie: The husky puppy? He's gone, too?
Skipper: She must have had him pull her in the sled!
Stacie: But it's getting dark!
Barbie: So she's out there somewhere all by herself!
Skipper: [Gasps] And it's starting to snow!
Barbie: I have to go find her.
Skipper: We have to find her.
Stacie: Right. I'm in, too.
Christie: We'll all look. The Elifs and I will fan out and some of us will stay here, in case she comes back. Here, take these. [Hands out earpieces] That way, we'll all be in touch and know when any of us find her.
Barbie: Thanks. Do I have it on right?
Christie: You make a perfect Elif. Good luck.
Scene 9 (Finding Chelsea)[]
[At night time, Barbie, Skipper and Stacie are searching for Chelsea.]
Barbie: Chelsea!
Skipper: Chelsea!
Stacie: Chelsea!
Barbie: Chelsea!
Stacie: Oh, no...
Barbie: What?
Stacie: No more sleigh tracks. The snow's covering them up.
Skipper: Where do we go now?
Barbie: I'm not sure. Unless...
Stacie: What?
Barbie: It's not like Chelsea knows this area. Aside from the inn, there's one other spot she's really been.
Skipper: If she could find it.
Stacie: I bet Rudy could find it. But can we?
Barbie: We have to try. I'll tell the Elifs where we think she is. Whoever gets there faster will find her. I hope.
[Barbie, Skipper and Stacie go to the barn where they saw the presents. They find Chelsea and Rudy asleep.]
Barbie, Skipper and Stacie: Chelsea?! Chelsea!
[Chelsea and Rudy wake up. Rudy pants and wags his tail.]
Barbie: Thank goodness, you're safe.
Chelsea: Barbie?
Skipper: We've been looking for you.
Chelsea: Hi, guys.
Barbie: What were you doing here?
Chelsea: I wanted to see the reindeer, and they were all here. They played with me and Rudy, and it was so cute. And I guess I fell asleep, 'cause that's all I remember. [Laughs and points at Barbie] You have pointy ears!
Barbie: [Laughs] I'll call the Elifs, let them know we're here and we found you. Promise you will never wander off like that again.
Chelsea: Okay, I promise.
Skipper: Why did you run away?
Chelsea: Stacie said I was in everyone's way, and you were mad at me, so I thought you'd be happier if I left you alone.
Skipper: Oh, Chelsea, that's not true! You're my sister, I love having you around.
Stacie: Me, too. Even when I hate having you around, I love having you around.
Chelsea: Really?!
Stacie: Yeah.
Chelsea: I love you too!
[Stacie and Chelsea hug and then Barbie and Skipper join in.]
Chelsea: You're crushing me!
[Everyone laughs.]
Stacie: I was thinking. One animal act is probably better than two... and the Stupendous Stacie would work way better with Charming Chelsea.
Chelsea: You mean it?
Skipper: She would mean it, if there was going to be a show. It's supposed to start in an hour but we don't even have a stage. There's no way we could be ready in time.
Barbie: I'm so sorry, Skipper. It was your big Christmas Eve show with a great new band playing your song, and...
Stacie: You must feel like your whole Chrismas is ruined.
Skipper: Are you kidding? I'm with the three of you. It's the perfect Christmas.
[They all hug.]
Chelsea: [Gasps] I know what can make it even perfect-er! You can come play with the reindeer! [Skipper laughs.] They must be outside. Come on!
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea and Rudy go outside.]
Chelsea: Hmm, I wonder where they went.
Skipper: [Notices tracks] Whoa. Those weren't there a minute ago.
Barbie: Sleigh tracks?
Stacie: Those are way too big to be from Rudy's sleigh.
Chelsea: Santa! Let's follow them.
[Stacie looks at the barn and walks back to it. Everyone else goes to the end of the tracks.]
Barbie: That's weird. The tracks just stop. Almost like...
[Sleigh bells can be heard in the distance. Rudy pants and wags his tail.]
Barbie, Skipper and Chelsea: Whoa.
Stacie: Um, you guys? Come look!
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea look in the barn.]
Stacie: Wow.
Skipper: Wow.
[The barn is decorated and has seating and a stage.]
Barbie: All those presents... they're gone.
Chelsea: Santa took them! He had to! And he left us a present! The perfect place to do Skipper's show! And look, our stockings! They're filled with presents!
Christie: Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho! [Turns on lights] What a great place for a show!
Chelsea: Christie!
Christie: Hey, Chelsea! Glad you're okay. [To Skipper] Do you love it?
Skipper: It's perfect! Can we really use it?
Christie: Of course. It belongs to my family and I insist you use it. Besides, I already made a bunch of calls. There's a whole audience on its way!
Skipper: You already... but how'd you know?
Christie: My uncle called me after he picked up all the presents in here. He said it would be the perfect spot.
Stacie: Your uncle picked up all the presents here? By himself? Is that possible?
Christie: My uncle does his best work on Christmas Eve.
Barbie, Skipper and Stacie: Whoa.
Chelsea: Mhm.
Christie: So... what do you think, Skipper? 45 minutes 'til showtime. Think you can do it?
Skipper: No. No way. Not without lots and lots of help. [To Barbie] Will you help me?
Barbie: We'd love to.
Stacie and Chelsea: Yeah!
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea hug.]
Scene 10 (Skipper performs)[]
[Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea have changed clothes. Barbie, Christie and Holly are handing out drinks. Christie waves at a couple who just arrived.]
Woman: Oh, hello!
[The audience is almost full. A drum roll plays and Stacie and Chelsea's performance begins.]
Chelsea: The Stupendous Stacie!
Stacie: And Charming Chelsea!
Stacie and Chelsea: Present the Cute-tastic Canine Choir!
[The audience responds warmly to Stacie and Chelsea's performance with the reindogs. Another couple arrives and Christie greets them.]
Christie: Merry Christmas!
Woman: Merry Christmas.
Christie: Welcome.
[The couple gets drinks.]
Barbie: Here you are, ma'am.
Christie: May I show you to a seat?
[Stacie and Chelsea high five when their performance ends and some people give them a standing ovation. Barbie and Skipper go to see Stacie and Chelsea backstage.]
Barbie: Stacie, Chelsea, that was fantastic!
Stacie and Chelsea: Thanks!
Barbie: [To Skipper] How are you feeling?
Skipper: Really good, thanks to the three of you. I never could've pulled this off without you.
[Christie comes back stage.]
Christie: [To Skipper] It's time.
Barbie: [To Skipper] Break a leg.
[The audience applauds as Skipper joins Brian's band on stage.]
Skipper: Thanks so much for coming, everyone. So far, this Christmas hasn't been what my sisters and I expected... but it still turned out to be amazing. I had a song I was going to do, but I changed the lyrics because... maybe I'll just let you hear it. 2, 3, 4!
[Skipper begins performing "Perfect Chistmas" with Brian's band.]
Skipper: [Singing] Well I've been waiting all year
Just for this day to get here
And I've been learning nothing goes
Exactly like you plan
Yeah I've been flying solo
Wishing I was in Soho
I thought I'd be a no go for this show
But here I am
[Cole films Skipper for her podcast and gives her a thumbs up.]
You might have seen me checking out
What's underneath that tree
But I have realised that there is
Just one gift for me
It's a perfect Christmas
[Christie dances in the audience.]
It's a perfect Christmas
It's a perfect Christmas
'Cause I'm with you
Woo
[Ivy uses a laptop to see the analytics for Skipper's performance. Barbie is sitting next to her and Stacie and Chelsea are by their sides.]
Skipper: [Singing] The ornaments are rocking
Barbie: [Speaking to Ivy] How's it going?
Skipper: [Singing] Somebody stole my stocking
Ivy: [Speaking] Check out the view count!
Skipper: [Singing] I think I threw out all my gift cards
With the recycling
[Barbie and Stacie smile at each other as they see Skipper's views increasing.]
Skipper: [Singing] Thе Christmas lights are tangled
The mistlеtoe got mangled
And even though my nerves are jangled
I'm good with everything
'Cause now I know the reason
It's the season of good cheer
I'd even eat the fruit cake
It's the same one as last year
[Christie claps along.]
Skipper: [Singing] It's a perfect Christmas
It's a perfect Christmas
It's a perfect Christmas
'Cause I'm with you
[Speaking] You know, there's now way I can finish this song without some help. I'd like to invite three very special people up on stage. My sisters - Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea.
[The audience applauds as Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea come on stage with microphones.']
Skipper: You guys ready?
Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Hey, hey, hey!
Skipper: [Singing] Put your hands up in the air
Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Ho, ho, ho!
Skipper: [Singing] Santa, can you feel it?
Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Here we go!
Skipper: [Singing] Spread the magic everywhere
Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Hey! Ho!
Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea: [Singing] Everybody shout out loud
It's a perfect Christmas
It's a perfect Christmas
It's a perfect Christmas
Skipper: 'Cause I'm with you (Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Hey, hey, hey!)
'Cause I'm with you (Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Ho, ho, ho!)
'Cause I'm with you (Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Here we go!)
'Cause I'm with you (Barbie, Stacie and Chelsea: Ho, ho, ho!)
'Cause I'm with you
[The audience gives them a standing ovation. The girls and the band bow. Christie walks towards the stage with Rudy and Millicent.]
Millicent: Merry Christmas, girls!
Barbie, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea: Aunt Millie!
Barbie: I can't believe you're here!
[Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea laugh as they hug Millicent.]
Millicent: Mais oui! Not that it was easy, mind you. The storm shifted and only a few planes got in the air. I had to promise almost everyone at the airline a custom made outfit from my newest fashion line.
Stacie: You did that for us?
Millicent: I would do anything for the four of you. [To Skipper] You were brilliant darling. [To all four] You all were brilliant.
Skipper: Thanks, Aunt Millie.
Chelsea: It really is the perfect Christmas!
[Rudy barks and runs outside.]
Chelsea: Rudy?
[Rudy is followed out of the barn by Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea, Millicent, Christie, the Elifs, and everyone else.]
Chelsea: Wow.
[People react in awe when they see a large decorated Christmas tree outside. Chelsea starts to sing "Deck the Halls".]
Chelsea: Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Stacie: 'Tis the season to be jolly
Skipper: Don we now our gay apparel
Fa la la, la la la, la la la
Barbie: Troll the ancient Yuletide carol
Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea and Millicent: Fa la la la la, la la la la
[Everyone walks towards the tree.]
Millicent: [Speaking] Incredible... but how?
Chelsea: [Speaking] It's Christmas magic! Aunt Millie, Christmas magic! [Singing] Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Barbie and Skipper: 'Tis the season to be jolly
Stacie and Chelsea: Don we now our gay apparel
Fa la la, la la la, la la la
Barbie and Skipper: Troll the ancient Yuletide carol
Fa la la la la, la la la la
Barbie: See the blazing Yule before us
Stacie and Chelsea: Fa la la la la, la la la la
Stacie: Strike the harp and join the chorus
Chelsea: Fa la la la la, la la la la
Follow me in merry measure
Fa la la la la, la la la la
Skipper: While I tell of Christmas treasure
Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea, Millicent and Ivy: Fa la la la la, la la la la
[Everyone holds hands around the tree. The squirrel is on top of the tree and looks at the viewer.]
(Deck the halls with boughs of holly) Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa la la la la, la la la la
('Tis the season to be jolly) 'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa la la la la, la la la la
Don we now our gay apparel
Fa la la, la la la, la la la
Troll the ancient Yulettide carol
Barbie, Skipper, Stacie, Chelsea, Millicent, Ivy and Christie: Fa la la la la (fa la la la la la la) la la la la
Fa la la la la
[Stacie and Chelsea play pet Rudy.]
La la la la
[Barbie and her sisters gather and look at the viewer.]
Barbie: [Speaking] Merry Christmas.
[The end credits play. "Wrap it Up, Stack it Up" and "Perfect Christmas" play over the credits.]
