Description[]
Several characters throughout the Generation Girls' Books and Generationgirl.com chat discussions are from Australia. At International High, there are three students from the country: Bradley Wilshire, Glenda Eastwick, and Victoria 'Tori' Burns. Bill the Cook at Eatz is also from Australia. Barbara Barbie Roberts compares Tori's accent to the character in the movie Crocodile Dundee.
Tori uses several colorful Australian expressions:
- "G'day, mate!" (Hey, friend)
- "Bonzer!" (Great)
- "Bloke" (man, dude)
- "Gent" (gentleman)
- "Crikey!" (an interjection expressing shock)
- "Fair-dinkum" (a good or cool person)
- "Boofhead" (an idiot or rude person)
- "G'darn" (Good darn)
- "Grub" (food)
